(She/Her)

Location: Penticton, British Columbia,
Languages: English

Dr. Pow has been a practicing Family Physician since she graduated from the Rural Alberta South Family Medicine Residency program in 2018, after completing her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary between 2012-2016.

Jessica discovered her passion for maternity care and low risk obstetrics in her early years of medical school and thereafter geared her internship and residency training, as much as possible, towards ensuring her competency in these specialties. During her residency program, she was exposed to breastfeeding medicine when she chose to do an elective at the Nurture Family Feeding Clinic in Lethbridge, AB, working alongside physician lactation consultants. She quickly developed a passion for breastfeeding counseling and support services and has since worked towards expanding her knowledge base in this field. She is continuing her breastfeeding education, as she works towards becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Dr. Pow has been working in Penticton, BC since April 2020. Outside of The Milk Clinic, she works at the South Okanagan Maternity Clinic, Foundry Clinic, and Rosedale Medical Associates. She is also a member of the Penticton Regional Hospital’s Baby Friendly Initiative team.

Jessica looks forward to helping her patients during pregnancy and postpartum in order to meet their feeding goals and provide them with the best possible infant feeding experience.
